Description: Safely increases pH of tap or pond water when used as directed. Use when preparing tap water for new ponds, or adding to make up for evaporation. Also use to correct for pH degradation over time due to natural processes. A good pH test kit is required for use of this product.
Directions: This is a strong product. Exercise care! If in doubt, use less, then measure pH. Consult an authoritative guide for the proper pH of the type of fish you are keeping. Most ponds do well with a pH in the range of 7 to 8. Test the pH. Add one tablespoon (3 capfuls or 15ml) per 30 gallons (120 liters) of tap or pond water to raise pH. Wait 24 hours for full pH stabilization. Test again, if pH is still low, repeat process.
Considerations for use: Pond pH is one of the most important parameters to consider when testing a pond. Some tap water systems suffer a low pH (below 7.0). Pond pH may also degrade over time, becoming more and more acid. If pond pH is too low, fish and plants will suffer, although, plants may die in water that fish continue to live in due to low pH.
It is a good practice to measure pH weekly on new ponds and semi-monthly on established ones. If pH is low, add this product as directed to bring the pH up. Never change pH more than .2 pH per day! Maintain accurate records.
