PRO-TECH COAT 16-OZ Description: Kent Pro Tech Coat neutralizes chlorine and heavy metals. It restores the natural slime coating to relieve fish stress, calm, and protect against abrasion. It helps acclimatize fish to new surroundings. Use it when preparing tap water, making water changes, adding new fish, handling fish, transporting fish, or when fish are wounded. Pro Tech Coat is different than competing products because it contains only costly polyvinylpyrrolidone as the coating ingredient. This same product is FDA approved as an ingredient in human medicinal and nutrition products. Competing products contain cheap fillers such as aloe vera and carboxymethylcellulose which then decay in the pond and lower the water quality. Directions: Add one tablespoon (3 capfuls or 15ml) per 60 gallons of tap water to remove chlorine and to aid injured or stressed fish. Soak gloves or towels in Kent Pro Tech Coat,when handling fish. Pro Tech Coat is not a medication and is not a substitute for any medication. Considerations for use: Kent Pro Tech Coat can be used alone or in conjunction with chloramine/ammonia removers such as Kent Ammonia Detox. It does not affect biological filtration and is safe for all pond species including koi, goldfish and other aquatic animals. It is particularly useful for shipping fish, and packaging newly purchased fish for the trip home. Add to pond when introducing new fish. Always soak gloves or towels in Kent Pro Tech Coat prior to handling fish. In many areas, water departments are using chloramines, a complex of chlorine and ammonia to prolong the chlorine action in killing bacteria. If chloramine is present, Pro Tech Coat will break it down into chlorine and ammonia, and neutralize the chlorine. The ammonia will be released. Depending on the pH of your water garden and the amount of water you change, there could be toxic levels of ammonia present. It is a good idea to measure the ammonia level, if you are in doubt or you can just dose water with Kent Ammonia Detox, to remove the ammonia, prior to adding fish or plants to your garden pond!
