Mixing Bucket Tool to Mix with Measuring Cup Water Lubricant - YOU NEED TO USE MOLD RELEASE!! You may use Vegetable oil or 8 parts Denatured alcohol & 1 part castor Oil (read the labels of these products for safety precautions)
Directions
1. Prepare Mold : Apply mold release. The key here is: To much is not good!! Use mold release sparingly. Spray on a fine coat and wipe itslightly with a cotton rag. If it runs you have to much. If it smears when you rub your finger across the mold, you have enough. After the first few pours you will be able to "eyeball" the mold and know what's enough and what isn't.
2. Mix Cement: According to directions on the back of the bag. If your mixing a little at a time....MEASURE EVERYTHING. Keep track of how much concrete mix you use/ with how much water. After a few pours you will find " A Recipe" that works for you, then stay with it. Mix very well. Mixture needs to be smooth, neither runny nor dry or lumpy -- more like a heavy pancake batter but don't MAKE IT SOUPY. A little dryer is better than a mix with to much water.
3. Pour cement into Mold: Pour half of the mold first. Now shake and tap bottom & sides of the mold to eliminate all bubbles. Fill the rest of the mold up with your cement mixture. Shake and tap again until the top surface is flat and even. Keep mold in a dry area for 24 hours on a level surface. YOU CAN USE A RUBBER MALLET TO TAP THESE MOLDS WITH. POUR CONCRETE IN TEMPERATURES ABOVE 70 DEGREES Concrete cures very slowly in lower temperatures and under 70 degrees and it will not be ready to de-mold in 24 hours. 4. Unmold Stone: Turn mold upside down onto a flat soft surface, and with one hand pushing down on the mold keeping it flat and face down start pulling up the edges along the outside of the mold. Go all the way around the mold to loosen it and you should be able to pull it right up and lift it off. If it comes off really hard, : try a little more mold release on the next pour..
Do not walk on your stones for 2 or 3 days. Set them where they will properly dry. Keep your molds clean. Wash with warm soapy water, rinse well. Can’t get all the cement off them? Try cleaning with a little bit of mold release. Questions:Call 518-529-8972 ask to Speak to Jack We not only sell these molds, We pour them also!!!
